PM Mayors' Business Wars
PM Mayors' Business Wars is an interactive Taiwan entrepreneurship simulation game that lets players build and manage a business across eight years and 32 quarters. Choose from five business lanes, compete against AI-driven rivals, make strategic quarterly decisions, manage cash flow, talent, market share and expansion, and discover one of multiple business endings through an immersive 3D sandbox experience.
Overview
PM Mayors' Business Wars is a browser-based entrepreneurship and business strategy simulation designed around the realities of operating a business in Taiwan.
Players select a business lane, build their own founder profile, allocate capabilities, compete against AI-controlled rivals, and make quarterly decisions across an eight-year simulation.
The game combines business strategy, financial thinking, market competition, gamification, and interactive 3D visualization into a classroom-friendly learning experience.
Five Business Lanes
Players can choose from five different business models:
- Bubble Tea
- Coffee Shop
- Brunch Restaurant
- E-commerce Brand
- B2B SaaS
Each lane has different cost structures, customer behavior, channels, seasonality and competitive dynamics.
32-Quarter Business Simulation
The game runs for 8 years / 32 quarters.
Every quarter presents a new decision card that may involve:
- Business strategy
- Store expansion
- Delivery platforms
- Seasonal campaigns
- AI adoption
- Talent investment
- Competitor actions
- Cost increases
- Acquisition offers
- IPO opportunities
- Business crises
Players must balance growth with cash flow, profitability and organizational sustainability.
AI Competitors
Each game includes four different competitor personalities:
- Price Aggressor
- Expansion Maniac
- Copycat
- Premium Player
Their behavior changes the competitive landscape and forces players to continuously adapt their strategy.
3D Business Sandbox
The project includes an interactive 3D sandbox built with Three.js and React Three Fiber.
The sandbox visualizes:
- Stores
- Customers
- Coins
- Business growth
- Quarterly profit and loss
- Seasonal conditions
- Market activity
Players can drag and zoom the 3D scene on mobile devices.
If WebGL is unavailable, the game automatically falls back to a 2D grid view.
Realistic Taiwan Business Conditions
The simulation incorporates several real-world structural challenges:
- Seasonal demand
- New-store honeymoon effects
- Increasing competition
- Rising rent
- Labor costs
- Platform commissions
- Marketing expenses
The game is designed so that failure is possible and meaningful, rather than being purely luck-based.
Gamification
The experience includes:
- Profit streaks
- 15 unlockable badges
- Board objectives
- Toast notifications and celebration effects
- Quarterly visual feedback
- Business performance cards
Multiple Endings
The game includes:
- 12 business endings
- 7 boss archetypes
At the end of the simulation, the game calculates the player's estimated "Boss Net Worth" based on equity value and accumulated salary.
Players can also generate a result card and share a replay link.
Deterministic Replay System
The simulation engine is deterministic.
The same:
- Seed
- Business setup
- Player attributes
- Decisions
will always produce the same result.
A short replay URL packages the entire game configuration and allows classmates or participants to reproduce the same business journey.
Bilingual Support
The game supports:
- Traditional Chinese
- English
The localization system dynamically converts financial values and generated game text for each language.
